Match Report - Black Country Rangers 7 Withymoor South 0

Sunday 4th Feb 07 saw BCR entertain Withymoor South. A fast start saw BCR going close to scoring in the first minute, another good attack drew the first goal at 3 minutes, 2 minutes later a 2nd goal came. A difficult match to remember as we were in full control , creating chance after chance, our keeper not had one save to make, we scored 7 could have been 77. gulf in class was enormous,.
Goals by DW (4), Scooby (2) and JT.

Match Report - Black Country Rangers 1 Withymoor West 2

Saw BCR travel to Withymoor West for a merit shield game. This was always a tough match as Withy South are a strong team in our division. The first half was very poor by BCR, and a sloppy goal conceded meant we were 1 nil down at half time. A much better second half when we passed and played well, possession wise we where all over withymoor, but couldn’t get that break through goal as they defended very well. We hit the crossbar, their keeper pulled of two finger tip saves, and few headers went just over, a few shots just wide. Then Scott Davies fired in a corner that swung straight in, a great goal 1-1. this seemed to be a good spark as both teams started playing good football and battling well. We were pushing for the winner , and got caught on the break, we allowed to much time and a winning goal was scored by Withymoor, rough justice for the afternoons work, I think a draw would have been a fair result. Goal by Scott Davies

Match Report - Black Country Rangers 4 Wordsley Wasps 0

Sunday 25th Feb, Wordsley Wasps visited Castle View for a league game. The rain had made the pitch very heavy with a few bad areas. The match started brightly with both teams battling for possession a very even opening fifteen minutes, after this BCR created several chances, with only the crossbar preventing Daniel Bremner from opening the scoring, soon after another chance and this time DW rammed home the opportunity. 1 nil to BCR at Half time. Second half had a stronger performance by BCR where we kept possession better and created more chances, Matt Holland took on 3 players and side stepped the ball past the keeper for number 2, Daniel Bremner latched onto to a loose ball to rifle home number 3, and Matt capped a great afternoon by scoring a pile driver to make it 4. It was a good performance against a strong team, well done to both sets of players for a hard fought game. Final Score BCR 4- Wordsley 0, Goals by Daniel Worton, Matt Holland (2) and Daniel Bremner.

Match Report - Black Country Rangers 1 Trysull Tigers East 0
A very windy, very cold 18th March saw BCR entertain Trysull Tigers East at Castle View. This was the third meeting this season, with today being a merit shield game. We knew it would be tough, as Trsyull are a strong team who are 100% committed. The first fifteen minutes where pretty even, with both teams having good possession but not many clear cut chances made. A ball from DW, split the Trysull defence and Scott took a touch then coolly slotted the ball home round the Trysull keeper. 1-nil to BCR, and so its stayed till half time. The second half was a faster pace with Trysull really attacking us, and it truth they where unfortunate not to score. The last 15 minutes of the game was end to end with both teams going close to getting goals. The final result was 1nil to BCR, Goal by Scott Davies. It was a good debut too for our new Defender Josh and our new Goalie Anthony, Well done lads.
Match Report - Black Country Rangers 1 Forest Falcons 3
Sunday 25th March saw Forest Falcons arrive at Castle View, clearly a tough game ahead as both teams are eyeing promotion. A nervy start by BCR allowed Forest to dominate possession and score a goal, half way through first half Forest scored again, we failed to close down and a great goal was scored from long range. 2nil down. Pressure from us resulting in a mix up , and the ball ended up in the back of the net BCR 1, Forest Falcons 2. Half time. We played a little better but well below our usual standard. by pressing forward we got caught on the break to go 3-1 down. We had chances, a missed penalty, a miss hit free kick, a goal ruled our for offside (dubiously), all in all not our day. We regroup, work hard and move on. Final Score BCR 1- Forest 3.
