Match Report - Black Country Rangers 3 Trysull East 0
Sunday 26th Nov saw BCR at home again this time playing Trysull Tigers. After last weeks shocking performance we were looking to put things right. We held the ball well, passed it well, battled and retained possesion, we were slightly short in front of goal but dictated play throughout the first half. Although we had the majority of possession we didnt creat to many chnaces, until midway through the first half Scott got the break through goal. Half time BCR 1- Trysull 0. The second half continued in the much the same vein, we used wignb play very well today, Mason had a blinder and Greg supplied great annumintion from the right, further goals by JT and Sam ensured a comfortable afternoon. We didn't have the electric breaks we have had in the passed, but we were calm , held positions and worked effectively as a team, It was undoubtly a very professional perfomance against very strong opposition. Match Report - Black Country Rangers 0 Gornal Athletic 5
Sunday 10th Dec Saw BCR host Gornal Athletic at Castle View, for a third round League cup clash. What should have beena great game was ruined by the loss of 3 of our players, poor pitch and horrendous conditions. In truth we played some good football, but a lack of cutting edge, and mistakes at the back cost us. We lost the game 5 nil. Although Gornal were the better side on the day 5- nil flatters them. We have some work todo on the training ground.
Match Report - Black Country Rangers 1 Bilbrook 1
Sunday 17th Dec saw BCR travel to Bilbrook for the first game in this seasons merit shield. It was always going to be a good game and tough, as both teams are very strong. The first half finished 0-0 with both teams going close and cancelling each other out. Midway during the second half a slip by the defence allowed Bilbrook to take the lead a score, About ten minutes later a great Corner from Dan was smashed home by Bradney, 1-1. After this both teams has chances to win, and both teams played some great football. I think a draw was about the right result and i must say I enjoyed watching two top teams playing well. Match Report - Black Country Rangers 2 Withymoor West 3
Sunday 14th Jan 07 saw BCR resume after a 4 week break, a trip to Withymoor West would provide our first game of 2007. Lets hope its not the shape of things to come. To put it bluntly we were awful. We gave away two of the stupidest goals ever to be two nil down to a team that had barely got in our half. We battled back and Scott got two to make it two each. A minute later another BCR almighty cock up to again gift withymoor a goal. Half time 3-2 to Withy West. Although we dominated the second half we couldn't convert the chances, Scott, DW, Dan, Matt and JT all going close to scoring but failing to find the back of the net. A very disjointed performance, probably even the worst this season. There was no movement, no passing and no passion. Add to that 3 gifted goals to withymoor, and there you have it. Lost 3-2. Match Report - Black Country Rangers 1 Warstones 0
Sunday 21st Jan saw BCR entertain Warstone Wanderers in the merit shield game. The game started at electric pace with both team going at each other, both creating chances. It was a good battle between two good teams. We had changed things round about in terms of system and players positions and I have to say I was very happy with way all players performed. It was an even first half, with only the crossbar preventing Warstones from taking a one nil lead. Second half saw better play from BCR and a lot of half chances created. Midway in second half DW was brought down just outside the box. The resultant free kick was put away by Daniel Bremner, (bend it like Bremner). One Nil to BCR, we created several more chances, but to be fair so did Warstones. I feel the result was fair in the end, as I feel we slightly edged possession and chances. It was however a great game with two quality teams playing 100%. Final Score BCR 1 - Warstones 0, Goal by Daniel Bremner
