Match Report - Black Country Rangers 10 Brierley Hill Bullets 2
Sunday 8th Oct saw BCR in the first round of the SDYFL league cup, we were away at Brierley Hill Bullets east. Another blistering start so the first goal for BCR arrive after 20 seconds, two minutes later it was 2 nil. We maintained attacking pressure and created chance after chance, scoring several of them. by Half time BCR were 7 nil up. The second half continued in the same vein , with an 8th goal added in minutes of the re-start. Then the referee decided to ignore the linesman and allow a goal to the bullets, when 3 players were way offside, score 8-1, BCR immeditaetly hit back to make in 9-1, a defensive mix up lead to another goal by thge bullets , 9-2. Again BCR hit back to make it 10-2. Two fuirther BCR goals were disallowed for offside. The final score being BH Bullets 2- BCR 10. A good win and in to round 2, The most pleasing thing today was the level of performance with passing and moving working very well on a small pitch, the goals were all colly taken , and Bradney scored a great header from a pinpoint corner by Dan. Goals scored by Scott Davies (6), who was also man of the match not only taking his goals very well but also linking up well, Daniel Bremner (3) and Bradney Palmer.
Match Report - Black Country Rangers 6 Wordsley East 2
Sunday the 29th October saw BCR resume football after a two week break we were keen to get back in to it. We were playing Wordsley Wasps away. It was a tense start and a very poor opening ten minutes, We didnt wake up. Scott Davies scored a great goal after ten minutes, and then a lapse allowed Wordsley to equalise.1-1. This seemed to be the kick start we needed five minutes later a first class finish from Daniel Bremner, made it 2-1 to us, a few minutes later Scott got his second, 3-1, not to be outdone Dan got a second 4-1, and then to prove he was back DW (playing his first game of the season also grabbed a goal . Half time Wordsley 1- BCR 5. Second half was a more scrappy affair, a slip at the back allowed Wordsley to score a second, and minutes later Scott completed his hattrick. The rest of the game just plodded along both teams reduced to long range efforts. Overall a good win after a two with break, and with two players missing again. Match Report - Black Country Rangers 3 Warstone Wanderers 1
Sunday 5th November 2006 saw BCR back at home and playing Warstone in the league. This was a tight game early on , as BCR had no woken up, half way through the first half, an excellent cross from Scott was headed in by Dan, 1-nil BCR. The rest of the first half saw BCR dominate without putting the chances away. Half tim score 1-nil. Early in the second another BCR attack was rewarded with a goal, this time for Matt his long range stunning strike dipping into the top corner. Five minutes later Warstones broke through and scored - 2-1. We continued to press and a further goal was added by JT , another great strike. We continued to put pressure on, but so did they. Our defence played well today, and in particular Sam who was one of the man of the matches. The other man of the match was our keeper Nick, who pulled off some great saves most notably 3 minutes from time, where he dived and at full stretch tipped the ball onto the upright, and out.
A good result but not the best performace. Credit to Warstones who hassled and tried all throughout the game. Final Score BCR 3- Warstones 1. Goals by Daniel Bremner, Matt Holland and Jack Martin (JT)
Match Report - Black Country Rangers 4 Brierley Hill Bullets West 1
Sunday 12th Nov saw BCR at home hosting BH Bullets of Division 3 in the league cup, we applied pressure from kick off and should have been 3 nil up inside ten minutes, however we weren't a great goal from Scott opening the scoring, with DW quickly adding a second to make it two nil to BCR. It was difficult to maintain any stride in the game, due to the all the stoppages !!. Just before half time Greg added a great 3rd goal, saw the half time score was 3 nil to BCR. The second half contiued in the same vein with us having alot of pressure but not finishing. More stoppages again made it diificult. BH bullets pulled one back with a well taken goal after a 1v1 with Nick, however this should not have stood, as the player pulled Sam to the floor to get into this position. We responded well with Scott converting a penalty after DW had been hacked to the floor. Final Score BCR 4 - BH Bullets West 1, a disapointing performance but through to round 2. Match Report - Black Country Rangers 0 Rowley Rhinos 2
Sunday 19th Nov saw BCR entertain Rowley Rhinos at Castle View. a short report today as quite frankly BCR were shocking, we lost 2 nil to 9 men. Rowley wanted it more , battled and played by far the better football, abosuletly no issues with the result as they deserved the win. Our players however should have a long hard look at themselves because they were SHOCKING, with only Dale providing an exception!!- Enough said !"
